Head lice live for approximately 40–50 days and go through 3 stages in their life cycle.
How do you get lice?
Head lice are almost always caught directly from another person, usually children. This typically happens when people are in head-to-head contact, such as when they share a bed or play together.
Do you have to clean the whole house?
Yes. We recommend vacuuming mattresses, sanitizing hair brushes in hot water and throw pillows in the dryer for 45 minutes. Wash sheets, blankets, jackets, recently used clothes, etc... in hot water. Stuffed animals can be bagged for three to five days if not able to be washed.
